The Future of College Sports Recruiting

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, recruiting for NCAA college sports - along with just about everything else - has undergone a massive change.

Where coaches used to employ a hybrid method of recruiting, with some scouting and visits being done online, digital recruiting has now become a top priority for college programs. Coaches are no longer allowed to visit as many games in person for scouting, making a unique online presence - digital athletic portfolio, professional highlight video and interactive resume - more essential than ever before.

Since the start of the pandemic, coaches have been making more searches for athletes and recruits online. From March-July 2020 there was a 20% year over year increase in online profile visits vs. March-July 2019. With more time working from home, coaches have been checking their emails more frequently than ever before. Compared to the same timeframe last year, coaches have opened approximately 26% more emails from potential recruits.
